#justakidfrommaine drinking her bone broth and eating her organ meat chili on a cold snow day ⛄️ After eating a vegan diet for over 10 year and having an EXTREMELY stressful job as an animal cruelty investigator.... my health crashed!!!! I developed severe adrenal fatigue or HPA-D (Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal Axis Dysregulation) which later lead to autoimmune and thyroid issues. I began getting cavities. It wasn’t until I began eating organic, local, nutrient dense food, did my health drastically improved. I have not had an episode of anxiety or depression years. Sure I get sad, things get hard and I feel like giving up, but I have not had a single thought of not wanting wake up in the morning or wishing the oncoming trailer truck would take me out. I have not had hours of racing thoughts or episodes of my heart feeling like it’s going to explode out of my chest. I don’t wish that pain and struggle on anyone.
My weight has finally stabilized and I have recovered from extreme anemia and Vitamin B deficiency. And I am finally able to workout again! Before, one workout would leave me in bed with exhaustion for 2 days. Now my workouts give me more energy!
Believe me, if I could survive on a vegan diet, that would be my dream. Vegan diets are a great way to cleanse the body, but it’s not sustainable for optimal health. The reality is humans NEED animal proteins. Our adrenal need cholesterol to function. We can only get that from animal sources. The most nutrient dense foods are organ meats. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the taste but mixing them in things like chili and meatloaf are easy ways to hide the taste and texture. Have you tried ancestral diet?
