Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre will open its doors for a free Fitness and different interests and fitness levels.
Lismore City Council leisure facility manager Natasha Everett said the open day was an opportunity for people to explore new
activities, meet instructors and discover what was available in the community.
“Not everyone enjoys the same type of exercise and that’s the great thing about this event,” she said.
“Whether you’re interested in pickleball, group fitness, strength training or something more relaxed, there’s an opportunity to give it a go.
“Sometimes the hardest part is simply getting started. This is a chance to try different activities, meet the instructors and see what’s available in our community.”
The program will feature pickleball, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), spin classes, Zumba and Lift strength-training sessions.
Those looking for a gentler approach to exercise can try Pilates, Stretch and Recovery or Stepping On sessions, while pre-natal sessions and guided tours of the gym will provide further options.
The open day will also bring together local health and wellness providers, with stalls giving visitors the opportunity to ask questions and learn about services available in the region.
Giveaways will be on offer throughout the morning, and the centre’s café will be open for visitors.
Everett said the aim was for people to leave having found an activity they enjoyed and might want to incorporate into their regular routine.
All activities are free, and bookings are not required. Visitors can sign in on arrival and join the sessions that interest them.
