Ballan mental health centre Wellness on the Lane officially launched last week, with clinicians hosting an open day for the public today, Friday 16 October.
The clinic at 121A Inglis Street above the UFS pharmacy will be open from 2pm to 4pm, inviting the community to meet the team, have a look around at the treatment centre, see what support is available on site, and enjoy afternoon tea.
Co-directors, clinical psychologists Melissa Viojo and Nicole Withers, have opened Wellness on the Lane in Ballan with an aim to close a gap in service provision for the area.
Wellness on the Lane specialises in psychological health care including diagnosis, treatment and ongoing support, and currently has two sites in Werribee.
Withers said the clinic on responds to an identified need and lack of in-person services for the town, and will care for a range of clients across all age groups, with an equally diverse array of presentations like depression, psychosis, mood and anxiety disorders, bereavement impacts, pain management and trauma, along with assessment for neurodevelopmental conditions like attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism.
The clinic is staffed by general and clinical psychologists, a mental health social worker, and administrators.
